dénicheur de talents (Pigeon John, Honeycut, Antonionian...). Avec lui, le hip hop devient pop, le funk glisse vers le rock, la soul se fait électronique... Découvrez aujourd'hui le teaser du

A force d'enchaîner les concerts de haut vol (plus de 200 recensés selon les forces de l'ordre), Hervé Salters a pris goût au jeu et à l'interprétation de ses propres compositions. Conséquence
logique et charnelle de l'expérience Good City For Dreamers, le nouvel album de General Elektriks est donc plus organique. Parker Street, c'est de la réalité augmentée, la plus courte distance
possible entre le live et le studio. Un travail de laboratoire encore accru (dans la lignée des productions hip hop américaines), mis cette fois-ci au service d'un disque de musiciens.
Et pour cause : pour la première fois, Salters ne s'est plus contenté de programmer : il a fait appel à un vrai batteur, Michael Urbano. Un vieux loup de mer de la Bay Area, aguerri au funk, au
rock et à la soul depuis des lustres. RV a su capter la magie du jeu rythmique pour mieux en restituer la dynamique dans sa production, ces montées insensées, et toute la vie sur le disque.
L'idée de solliciter Urbano pour ce nouvel opus lui est venue après une première collaboration improvisée en 2010, pour les besoins de la BO de la série Les Beaux Mecs (sur France 2), signée par
RV. Un projet s'intégrant dans l'Elektriks Collection, une série discographique gérée par Salters, et présentant les projets satellites autour de General Elektriks : Le MC Pigeon John,
Antonionian (batteur en live de General Elektriks), ou Honeycut, trio de soul garage auquel participe aussi notre musicien passionné.

groundswell grew after larger festival performances such as The Falls Festival, Apollo Bay Music Festival, Pyramid Rock Festival, and Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival,
Adelaide International Guitar Fest, Blues at Bridgetown, and Folk Rhythm and Life. Sawyer has toured extensively in Australia headlining, and built a strong fan bass further afield, touring solo
and with his band in France, Holland, Belgium, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Portugal. He’s supported many a high profile act including Willie Nelson, Al Green, John Fogerty (Creedence
Clearwater Revival), Chris Isaak, Chickefoot (Van Halen, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Joe Satriani), Donavon Frankenreiter, Jeff Martin, The Cranberries, Jeff Lang, Ash Grunwald, and Lior to name a

Early 2008 Rob fulfilled an ambition. He rode Australia, East coast to West - a musical tour by bicycle - Known as the “On Ya Bike Tour.” Sawyer loaded up the back of the bike with guitar, tent,
and tasty provisions to ride the 4600kms from Melbourne VIC, across the to Perth WA. Performing shows in towns and cities along the way and crossing the Nullarbor Plane during a heat wave to
experience intensity and fatigue. This journey showed much inspiration, and education, and won’t be forgotten.
A home studio was built, and over a few months of sporadic sessions, Rob’s first full-length album came in 2006 – sTUFF. Released through independently owned label Treehouse Records, the album
introduced the unforseen explosive elements Sawyer’s band, and at the same time captures the radiance of Rob’s solo acoustic works of art.
Early 2010 Rob was joined by long time mate Simo McMahon (Bass Guitar) and brand spanker, Anthony Murray (Drums) to record his second album, “Lose Discover.” Due to be released early 2011 the
album is a raw and gritty heavy progression, with a clear record of Sawyers tasty acoustic novelty. Sawyer offers a narration of a somewhat lost highway he has travelled in the past years.
Personal desires for the absent, questions of identity and love, motivation and bad habit, loss and discovery.
Sawyer and the lads just returned home to Australia from a 4-month European Band onslaught. Living out of their ratty tour van, the boys managed to cover16, 000kms of the continent, and
experienced a number of radical circumstances their “trusty” tour van coughed up along the way. First it was busted into and robbed at the beginning of the run, then fell on Rob’s foot during a
home mechanics reparation session, and at the tail end of the tour they suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, before dumping their 4-wheeled friend in south west France because the engine decided
to retire.
Sawyer and the lads just returned home to Australia from a 4-month European Band onslaught. Living out of their ratty tour van, the boys managed to cover16, 000kms of the continent, and
experienced a number of radical circumstances their “trusty” tour van coughed up along the way. First it was busted into and robbed at the beginning of the run, then fell on Rob’s foot during a
home mechanics reparation session, and at the tail end of the tour they suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, before dumping their 4-wheeled friend in south west France because the engine decided
to retire.
On a positive note, this year the Rob Sawyer Band were a part of the French Hossegor Quiksilver Surf Pro, the Lacanau Pro, and Belgium’s Dranouter Folk Festival. Rob opened for Willie Nelson, and
Al Green at Paris’s prestigious Olympia Stadium, and also for Chris Issak in Brussels, and The Cranberries in Nice. The Sawyer Band shape “talk of the town” wherever they roll. With crazy new
drummer Anthony Murray now on board, throwing out some off the cuff percussive brilliance, and long-time bass player Simo McMahon laying down the law, the band is now at home. Rob and his mates
flaunt an unforgettable display of musicianship, friendship, and good-times, ensuring all who witness leave with a grin from ear to ear.

UNPLUGGED, OU LA FLAMBOYANCE INTIMISTE
Les dernières apparitions publiques d’Alice In Chains remontent à l’année 1993. Les rumeurs de dissolution s’enchaînent, sans que personne ne puisse vérifier leur véracité. Pourtant, le groupe
est bien vivant, comme le prouvent l’impeccable Jar Of Flies, et le torturé éponyme de 1995. Le quatuor, à la sortie de ce dernier album, décide à nouveau de ne pas reprendre les concerts.
L’addiction de Layne Staley est connue de tous, et cette décision ne surprend personne. L’état de santé effrayant du chanteur est évoqué à demi-mot par certains de ses amis, désespérés par sa
défaite face aux opiacés. Alice In Chains resurgit pourtant, à la surprise de tous, et d’une manière à la fois élégante et inattendue : lors de la sacro-sainte émission Unplugged de MTV.
Enregistrée en avril, l’émission paraît en disque en juillet, parvenant jusqu’à la première place des meilleures ventes. Elle présente également le groupe sous son jour le plus inhabituel,
puisque le guitariste Scott Olson est présent pour étoffer les arrangements acoustiques. Le succès brillant de l’album et de l’émission prouvent à nouveau qu’Alice In Chains n’a pas quitté le
cœur du public durant ses années de silence, loin de là. Premier concert des américains en deux ans et demi, mais aussi une des dernières apparitions de Layne Staley, Unplugged multiplie les
symboles.
L’aura qui se dégage de cet album est proprement indescriptible. L’auditeur, dès les premières mesures de Nutshell, est happé dans un climat tragique, à la fois transcendant et désolant. Une
noirceur indéfinissable plane sur l’ensemble du projet, s’insinuant dans le moindre couplet, dans le moindre accord, dans la moindre note. La musique d’Alice In Chains, même privée de ses
attributs électriques, demeure aussi saisissante qu’à l’origine. Sa force sombre est telle que le public garde un silence respectueux durant la plus grande partie des morceaux, littéralement
dominé par la prestation scénique aussi modeste qu’époustouflante accomplie par le quintette. Libéré des contraintes rythmiques, Jerry Cantrell peut se concentrer sur les mélodies et les soli,
livrant de frémissantes caresses mélodiques, avec retenue, douceur et mélancolie. La basse de Mike Inez est parfaitement mise en valeur, bien plus que sur les albums du groupe, se coulant avec
aisance entre les guitares et la batterie, dardant des lignes captivantes, sans cesse changeantes. Sean Kinney frappe ses fûts avec sa rigueur habituelle, s’alliant aux instrumentistes, les
soutenant sans les gêner. Mais tous les musiciens présents ne sont que des rouages d’une machine qui les dépasse, d’un être collectif de loin supérieur à la somme de ses membres.
Et, toujours au sommet de l’édifice savamment tissé par le groupe, planent les voix de Jerry Cantrell et de Layne Staley. L’organe carré, direct, suave du guitariste et celui vibrant, éraillé,
percutant du chanteur s’entremêlent, se répondent, se complètent, se combattent avec tristesse et volupté. Leur ballet, nimbé d’un chagrin confinant à la morbidité, trouve ici son incarnation la
plus naturelle, la plus subjuguante. Pour paraphraser la formule ô combien galvaudée d’Alfred de Musset, les plus désespérés sont les chants les plus beaux. Unplugged semble être la traduction de
cette citation dans le monde du rock. Si Dirt illustrait la bataille entre un homme et ses démons, Unplugged incarne quant à lui le contrecoup de la défaite, la résignation, la capitulation.
Cette marche funèbre, capable de saisir le plus indifférent, est le couronnement de l’œuvre d’Alice In Chains. Parfois, l’auditeur à l’impression d’entendre ces titres pour la première fois, tant
leur force originelle est transcendée par la performance presque surnaturelle du quintette. Introduction idéale à l’œuvre d’Alice enchaînée, œuvre déprimante et déprimée, symbole d’une époque
révolue, Unplugged est tout cela, et bien plus encore. Reste, de nos jours, la figure sombre, émaciée, pâle, creusée, de Layne Staley, livrant de toute son âme une des plus poignantes prestations
des années 1990, quelques années avant la fin inévitable.

Enregistrée en avril, l’émission paraît en disque en juillet, parvenant jusqu’à la première place des meilleures ventes. Elle présente également le groupe sous son jour le plus inhabituel,
puisque le guitariste Scott Olson est présent pour étoffer les arrangements acoustiques. Le succès brillant de l’album et de l’émission prouvent à nouveau qu’Alice In Chains n’a pas quitté le
cœur du public durant ses années de silence, loin de là. Premier concert des américains en deux ans et demi, mais aussi une des dernières apparitions de Layne Staley, Unplugged multiplie les
symboles.
L’aura qui se dégage de cet album est proprement indescriptible. L’auditeur, dès les premières mesures de Nutshell, est happé dans un climat tragique, à la fois transcendant et désolant. Une
noirceur indéfinissable plane sur l’ensemble du projet, s’insinuant dans le moindre couplet, dans le moindre accord, dans la moindre note. La musique d’Alice In Chains, même privée de ses
attributs électriques, demeure aussi saisissante qu’à l’origine. Sa force sombre est telle que le public garde un silence respectueux durant la plus grande partie des morceaux, littéralement
dominé par la prestation scénique aussi modeste qu’époustouflante accomplie par le quintette. Libéré des contraintes rythmiques, Jerry Cantrell peut se concentrer sur les mélodies et les soli,
livrant de frémissantes caresses mélodiques, avec retenue, douceur et mélancolie. La basse de Mike Inez est parfaitement mise en valeur, bien plus que sur les albums du groupe, se coulant avec
aisance entre les guitares et la batterie, dardant des lignes captivantes, sans cesse changeantes. Sean Kinney frappe ses fûts avec sa rigueur habituelle, s’alliant aux instrumentistes, les
soutenant sans les gêner. Mais tous les musiciens présents ne sont que des rouages d’une machine qui les dépasse, d’un être collectif de loin supérieur à la somme de ses membres.
Et, toujours au sommet de l’édifice savamment tissé par le groupe, planent les voix de Jerry Cantrell et de Layne Staley. L’organe carré, direct, suave du guitariste et celui vibrant, éraillé,
percutant du chanteur s’entremêlent, se répondent, se complètent, se combattent avec tristesse et volupté. Leur ballet, nimbé d’un chagrin confinant à la morbidité, trouve ici son incarnation la
plus naturelle, la plus subjuguante. Pour paraphraser la formule ô combien galvaudée d’Alfred de Musset, les plus désespérés sont les chants les plus beaux. Unplugged semble être la traduction de
cette citation dans le monde du rock. Si Dirt illustrait la bataille entre un homme et ses démons, Unplugged incarne quant à lui le contrecoup de la défaite, la résignation, la capitulation.
Cette marche funèbre, capable de saisir le plus indifférent, est le couronnement de l’œuvre d’Alice In Chains. Parfois, l’auditeur à l’impression d’entendre ces titres pour la première fois, tant
leur force originelle est transcendée par la performance presque surnaturelle du quintette. Introduction idéale à l’œuvre d’Alice enchaînée, œuvre déprimante et déprimée, symbole d’une époque
révolue, Unplugged est tout cela, et bien plus encore. Reste, de nos jours, la figure sombre, émaciée, pâle, creusée, de Layne Staley, livrant de toute son âme une des plus poignantes prestations
des années 1990, quelques années avant la fin inévitable.

La première écoute de ce disque m'a donné l'impression de passer 45 minutes dans un rêve éveillé. En fait, 45 minutes multipliées par deux puisque j'ai relancé le disque immédiatement, même pas
gêné par la reprise du Girls just want to have fun (de Cyndi Lauper) à la guitare acoustique qui conclut l'album.
Bien au contraire, dois-je avouer en rougissant.
En un mois et demi, j'ai dû écouter ce disque une cinquantaine de fois (Madame aime beaucoup également), délaissant par là-même des disques probablement plus intéressants et exigeants.
I love your glasses se fera très probablement descendre en flèche par la presse musicale intellectuelle et bien pensante si cette dernière daigne un jour s'attarder sur son cas. Peu importe, il
restera pour moi l'un de ces "disques secrets" que je n'aurai même pas honte d'aimer.
Trève de bavardages ... et passons aux choses sérieuses.

Je n'ai rien contre l'espagnol, bien au contraire, mais il me faut avouer que la musique folk interprétée dans la langue de Miguel Indurain (on a les références que l'on mérite) n'est pas ma
tasse de thé.
La voix de Lourdes, si elle évoque par moments, toutes proportions gardées, les bizarreries vocales que l'on peut retrouver chez ses petites camarades de jeu Marissa Nadler et Joanna Newsome,
fait presque immédiatement écho à celle de Katie Melua.
Mais, au contraire des albums quasi sans saveur de Katie Melua qui ne sont rien d'autres que des successions de singles destinés à la diffusion commerciale, I love your glasses propose une unité
et une cohérence bien plus importantes.
Rien d'essentiellement révolutionnaire certes, mais pourquoi bouder un plaisir quand il est simple et innocent comme celui proposé par ce disque ?
Quelques grammes de bonheur dans un monde de brutes.

Biography:
Lendi Vexer recorded its first promotional EP in its own studio in 2002 (self-produced CDR) called Suicidal Adage. Originally, it consisted of 4 tracks (Tribute to desolation, Scape, Nothing was
special and Suicidal adage).
After deciding to upload it on the Internet for sale, the duo got in touch with people abroad and with an Australian independent label. They put them in contact with distributors and promoted the
EP. Once the first 500 units were sold out, in 2004 the EP was relaunched with a bonus track in which Natalie plays the Theremin in real time. This EP will be re-edited by Stereotape Records. As
DJ Tom Bollinger played it in Australian clubs, it was him, this great Australian collaborator, who made the first Remix version of the song Nothing was special.
As this material became known, on the web, the duo was asked for permission to make a second remix. Thus, in 2004, The Crimson Underground (UK-North Ireland) made the remixed version of the track
Suicidal adage. The EP was already being distributed by “Super D” (US) and was for sale in Cdbaby, Amazon and in Tower Records U.S.
During that year, in the UK and Brazil, Tripofagia (the main Trip Hop site) chooses the EP Suicidal Adage as one of the best three Trip Hop EPs in 2004. In 2005, the company Jun Group
Entertainment, Inc. chooses Lendi Vexer to become part of the soundtrack of the “Episode 10” of the American TV show called “The scene”. The selected tracks were Nothing was special, Every Thing
is Special Tom Bollinger MIX, Suicidal adage and Tribute to desolation. By the end of that year, the Trip Hop compilation W.E.B (Wicked Electronic Beats vol.1) is edited in the UK and Brazil by
Tripofagia’s team. This selection of artists includes Lendi Vexer with its song Tribute to desolation. About this, Guto (Tripofagia) wrote "Tribute to Desolation is one of the nicest melancholic
trip-hop songs I've ever heard...". This record also included, among other artists, U-topia and Lovage (Mike Patton, from Faith no more and Dan The Automator, Gorillaz’s producer). By early 2006,
due to the fast impact of the record on the web, the Colombian artist Paddington Breaks contacted Lendi Vexer. He made the second remixed version of the song Nothing was special. Meanwhile, in
Argentina, the EP was sold in the live shows that took place in “Niceto Club”, “Cemento”, “Especial”, “Remember Jazz Pub” and “El Argentino”, among others for soon continuing in Auditorio Cendas,
Virasoro Bar and Liberarte.
In 2007 they release, with its own label, the album The process of disillusion that consists of 13 tracks which explore the vocal variables inside the electronic music downtempo, conjugating sad
and melancholic poetries with a strong critical content. It approaches musical genres as folk, song, broken beats, trip hop and a dismantled jazz reminiscent of the sound of the old school of
Bristol, such as Portishead, Tricky, Massive Attack or PJ Harvey. The Theremin participates in this combination in several tracks of the record.
The album is distributed by SuperD, one of the greatest integral music distributors in the US which works through catalogue sales and has distributed this record in more than 2400 stores between
the US and other countries (France, Italy, Canada, Japan, Korea, etc.). The record is sold in digital form in addition to iTunes, napster and eMusic and it is also available in music stores in
Buenos Aires, in all Argentina and the rest of the world (through Faro Latino).

of their sound is invoked with their old school equipment that they have gone on harvesting minutely from their beginnings.
This environment acoustic is seconded by the electronics and reinforced with the different abilities in both components, as the orchestrations and programmings of DG and the singular voice of
Natalie and their ability with the legendary Theremin among other instruments.
