I Love Democracy - La Grèce

High Tone meets Brain Damage - High Damage
http://www.highdamage.fr
Origine du Groupe : France
Style : Electro Dub
Sortie : 2012

It’s hardly coincidence that Man in Motion, the latest project from Warren Haynes, is also a spot-on way to describe the album’s creator. After touring and recording extensively with The Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule, and The Dead, is it surprising that Warren found time to cut a solo album? Surprising – no, not to those that follow Warren. Anticipated and appreciated? Yes, you’d better believe it.
In his first solo studio recording in 18 years, it is a wonderful treat to listen to Warren pour it out in this soulful, personal piece of work. Warren’s guitar is present as always, but the power of Man in Motion lies in the passionate, penetrating vocals that provide a glimpse into the soul of the singer himself. Add to that the arsenal of keys, sax, and backing vocals from world-class talent, and out comes Man in Motion, a soul-driven blend of the modernity and roots that make Warren shine.
Man in Motion kicks off with the title track and single, “Man in Motion.” From there, Warren displays his adventurous, diverse style in cuts like “River’s Gonna Rise” and “Sick of My Shadow,” songs with a ton of groove and force. His inspiring vocals drive songs like “Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday” (originally by William Bell), “Your Wildest Dreams,” and “Save Me.” This ten-song album, from start to finish, is charged with inspiration. It is a piece of work that should be appreciated and enjoyed plentifully.

LR-60 released a new album "Coldest Memories" in June 2008 and another project "Ultraviolence" in June 2009, says LR-60’s Skip Warren. The newest CD "Cosmic Serenades" is scheduled for release in April, 2011 after a year and half in production.
2008’s “Coldest Memories” opened wide the floodgates for the presentation to the world of LR-60’s atmospheric, soaked-in-hooks style. “Coldest Memories” brought forward LR-60’s captivating conglomerate of post-modern jazz, trip-hop, dub, chillout and so much more. LR-60 is professional trumpet player Skip Warren, who found the fulfillment of a vision when he discovered – via online contact –electronic artist Christian Denis – aka Mr. Moods. Through their correspondence they discovered that they shared the same musical goals and tastes.
Warren’s extensive jazz, blues and soul experience perfectly dovetailed with Mr. Moods’ electronic excursions. Their partnership combines the organica of LR-60’s trumpet with Mr. Moods’ electronic ambience-summoning.
LR-60 toured with the late “Disco Lady” Johnnie Taylor for four years in the late 70s and early 80s and also played with the late Z.Z. Hill for a year. He toured with blues legend Bobby “Blue” Bland for a decade from 1981 to 1991. That connection nabbed him countless shows with B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Greg Alman, Albert King, Little Milton, Clarence Carter, Tyrone Davis, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Wilson Pickett, Junior Walker & The Allstars, John Lee Hooker, Dr. John, Millie Jackson and James Brown – just to name a few.
He also enjoyed a stellar opportunity – recording with gospel singer Kirk Franklin on the Nu Nation Project album with noted gospel artist Fred Hammond. LR-60 has also written and recorded original compositions for CNN

Who the f_ck is Blockboy?
As an avowing vinyl-junkie, the native of Munich sees his inspirational roots mainly in Beat and Rockmusic of the early 70s as well as in the New York HipHop of the 90s.
In his recording studio and atelier in an old building flat in Munich, he regularly descends into spheres of visual art and sound, while swinging between bliss and desperation because of his perfectionism. With attention to detail, the communication designer plays and records all instruments himself, strictly according to the motto: keep it real!
To put a label on Blockboy's sound is not easy, since he moves between Ambient, Dubstep, HipHop, BigBeat and Funk - always enhanced by an affection for detailed samples of vinyl treasures.
Along with his band 'Octopussies', a HipHop-Funk combo, that he is founding member, guitarist and musical lead of, Blockboy already has a lot of live
experience and attention in Southern Germany - with hand-made music and real instruments. But now, after his first tracks on the well received sampler 'Yummy! Yummy!', his debut as a solo artist in the world of electronic music has arrived:
'Heartbox', which will be released as a limited collector's vinyl edition (of course!) as well as a Download edition, is the start of a trilogy of topically defined EPs, that showcase his incredibly wide spectrum. On 'Heartbox', Blockboy presents his affection for Downbeat, HipHop and deep sound - but it will be interesting, what else is to come...;)
